lakehead shrine club-thunder bay

The Lakehead Shrine Club operates in Thunder Bay out
of the Masonic Hall on Dease Street across from the Lakehead Conservatory. From 1905 onwards there were many Shriners located
in this area but it wasn't until 33 years later that they organized the Lakehead Shrine Club. The Lakehead Shrine Club received its Charter from Khartum Temple in September 1938. The Shrine Club offers a meeting place for many area men as well as a women’s auxiliary,

the Lakehead Shriner’s Ladies Club.

We raise funds for a number of organizations in town such as George Jeffery Children’s Centre, TBRH Cardiac Care, Masonic CHIP (Child Identification Program), etc. However our main focus is the Shrine Hospitals and the Hospital Transportation Fund.

Noble Jon Watts Past President of the LSC, will receive Citizen of Excellent Achievement Award from the City of Thunder Bay on the 17th of April.  This special award recognizes an individual who has volunteered time towards improving and enriching the community of Thunder Bay.  Also, for one who has shown extraordinary leadership, innovation and has made meaningful contributions. Noble Jon has certainly done this for the community as well as for the Shrine Club.

Ducks Unlimited (Ontario) have 1200 volunteers and out of that number they have awarded to our 3rd Vice President Noble John Stewart volunteer or the year. He has worked tirelessly for the last 12 years mostly dedicated to raising funds to support the habitat conservation wet lands program.  He has been told by the Ducks Unlimited (Canada) that they will also be giving him the Canadian Volunteer award of the year. This should not be a surprise as since Noble John joined the Lakehead Shrine club seven years ago he has often taken the lead role in some of our fundraising projects.

Noble Mark Kusznier, 2nd Vice President of the LSC, has been recognized by the Thunder Bay Regional Science Centre as an employee donor. Donations made by employees such as Noble Mark has enable the hospital to purchase multiple new pieces of equipment for the benefit of the residence in this area.  Well done..
